1、 Is Beiqi Astragalus
Beiqi is a kind of Astragalus membranaceus. It is only named after the place of origin, mainly to distinguish it from Astragalus membranaceus produced in southern China. Because the varieties of Astragalus produced in the north are better and more warm, the Astragalus produced in the north is named Beiqi. Therefore, Astragalus membranaceus is the correct name, and Beiqi is only the appellation named after the place of origin. It should be noted that the Beiqi mentioned here is different from zhengbeiqi. Beiqi refers to Astragalus growing in northern areas such as Inner Mongolia and Northeast China, while zhengbeiqi refers to Astragalus growing in Hunyuan area of Shanxi Province. It is a national three-level protected plant. It is a very rare plant, and its nutritional value is higher than that of Beiqi.
2、 Distinction
1. Different producing areas: Beiqi mainly refers to Astragalus produced in the north. For example, Astragalus produced in Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia and Shanxi is Beiqi. The origin of Astragalus membranaceus mostly refers to those grown in the south. Generally, when doctors prescribe, they will use the name of Beiqi to distinguish it from Astragalus from other places of origin.
2. Different efficacy: the efficacy of Astragalus growing in the south is less different from that of Beiqi, but it is not as warm as Beiqi and is more suitable for use in the south. In general, Astragalus membranaceus used in health care or treatment is mostly raw Astragalus membranaceus, that is, dried Astragalus membranaceus slices, which can be used to make soup, soak in water and drink.
