1、 Will it bloom
Seabuckthorn will bloom. It itself is dioecious, and its inflorescence generally grows on annual branches. The inflorescence axis of male flowers will fall off, and the inflorescence axis of female flowers will become twigs or thorns. The flowers bloom before the leaves, and the color is light yellow. Its male flowers bloom early, with 4 stamens, and its female flowers bloom late with short pedicels. Usually the flowering period is from April to may, and the fruit will not mature until September to October.
2、 Morphological characteristics
Seabuckthorn belongs to deciduous shrub or tree, and its height is generally about 1.5m. It has many thorns, and its twigs are brownish green, with white scales and fluff on them. The old branches are grayish brown with rough surface. Paper leaves are opposite, lanceolate in shape, with a length of 30-80mm and a width of 4-10mm. Its fruit is spherical, only 6 mm in diameter, usually orange yellow or orange red.
3、 Growth habit
Seabuckthorn likes light, and its cold resistance and heat resistance are also very good. At the same time, it is resistant to wind, sand and drought. It has strong adaptability to the soil. As long as it is not too sticky soil, it can grow normally. It has certain requirements for precipitation, and the annual precipitation needs to reach 400mm. If the precipitation is insufficient, but there is water source at the growth place, or it is relatively humid, it can also be developed.
4、 Curing method
Seabuckthorn generally needs loose and fertile soil. Although it has low requirements for soil, the soft soil is conducive to the respiration of roots. At the same time, it should be planted in the sunny place. If it is potted, it can be put on the balcony to make it fully exposed to light. It doesn't need too much water at ordinary times. It's easy to submerge the root if there is too much water. If sufficient base fertilizer is applied during planting, there is almost no topdressing during the growth period.
