1、 Can I eat it
Garlic will not produce toxins when germinating, but it is a normal phenomenon to supply its own nutrients for germination under the appropriate circumstances of the outside world. Whether the sprouted garlic can be eaten depends on the situation. If the garlic not only sprouts, but also changes color, molds and even begins to rot, it can't be eaten any more. Eating it will cause harm to the body and can only be thrown away. If the garlic is not discolored and moldy, it can be eaten in this case without throwing it away. This kind of garlic will not affect the human body, but it will taste worse.
2、 How to keep it from sprouting
1. Low temperature preservation: low temperature can inhibit garlic germination. Garlic can be placed in the refrigerator, but not below zero.
2. High temperature preservation: high temperature can also play a role. You can put the harvested garlic in a high temperature environment at a temperature of about 30-35 ℃.
3. Sealed storage: putting garlic in a sealed bottle or jar can increase the concentration of carbon dioxide, reduce the concentration of oxygen in it, reduce breathing and reduce the possibility of germination.
4. Hanging string preservation: remove the garlic that is too large, too small or damaged from the harvested garlic, tie it into a handful every 8-10 garlic, and then hang it in a well ventilated place. Move it to the storage in winter to avoid freezing.
