1、 Introduction
Siraitia grosvenorii is the fruit of perennial vines in Cucurbitaceae, also known as Lahan fruit, false balsam pear, light fruit wooden turtle, Jinbuhuan, etc. it is also known as "fairy fruit". It is rich in Guilin and has a long history of planting in Longjiang Township, Longsheng and Baishou towns of Yongfu county. It is one of the first batch of dual-purpose materials approved in China. It has many effects and functions. The main effect is to stop cough and reduce phlegm. In addition, the fruit has high nutritional value and is rich in vitamin C, glucosides, fructose, glucose, protein, lipids and other nutrients.
2、 Shape features
The shape of Siraitia grosvenorii is spherical or oblong, about 6-11cm long and 4-8cm in diameter. The peel of the fruit is thin after ripening and crisp after drying. Seeds oblate, mostly, about 1.5cm long and 1.2cm wide. Light brown to red in color. The flowering period is from May to July and the fruiting period is from July to September.
3、 Growth habit
It mostly grows under the hillside forest in the subtropical area, in the humid section of the river or in the middle of the shrub forest. During its growth and development, it has certain requirements for environmental conditions. The first is light. It is a short day plant, which needs 7-8 hours of light every day. The second is humidity and temperature. I like to grow in a humid, foggy and cool environment. The temperature difference between day and night in the growing place shall be large, and the frost free period shall be long, and the air relative humidity shall be between 75-85%. The temperature should not be too high and should be kept at about 22-28 degrees. Then there is water, which has high requirements for water and needs to grow in places with abundant and uniform rainfall. Finally, the soil is suitable for plants to grow in loose, fertile, well drained, deep and humid soil.
