1、 Introduction
Maolitchi, also known as rambutan, hongmaoguo, Shaozi and so on, is a large tropical fruit tree of saparicaceae. Its fruit is not only red, but also yellow. Its taste is similar to that of litchi. It is less distributed in China and has a large planting area only in Baoting and Sanya on Hainan Island. The flowering period is from February to April, and the fruit ripening period is from June to August. It likes the growth environment of high temperature and humidity, no wind damage and low altitude mountains. The growth is better when the annual average temperature is above 24 ℃, and the minimum temperature cannot be lower than 17 ℃. The soil should be deep, rich in organic matter, fertile and loose, well drained and ventilated, and the soil pH value is between 4.5-6.5. Originating from the Malay Peninsula, it is cultivated in Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. It enjoys the reputation of "fruit king" in Thailand.
2、 How to eat
Fresh eating: you can peel off the shell directly and eat the white pulp inside. The flesh of maolitchi is similar to that of litchi, fresh and juicy, sour and sweet and delicious.
Tea: peel the pulp from the shell, and then boil it with water. This way of eating can fully combine its taste with water, enrich the taste when drinking, and effectively alleviate diarrhea, thirst and other diseases.
Cooking: when cooking porridge in soup, you can add some litchi, which will bring the taste of porridge or hot with the sour and sweet pulp, and enrich its nutrition at the same time. Or it can be made into salad, such as shrimp rambutan salad, which is not only nutritious, but also tastes better.
