1、 Select cutting

Prepare a sugarcane without peeling, the thicker the better. Cut the sugarcane into several small sections with a knife to ensure that the two ends of the incision are flush, and each section has 1-3 sections. Then put the cut sugarcane section in a cool and ventilated place to let the wound dry completely

2、 Planting sugarcane

Prepare the soil and lay the dried sugarcane section flat on the soil surface. If the cut sugarcane has multiple sections, put the bud point on each section towards the left and right sides. If the cut sugarcane has only one section, put the bud point upward and gently bury the sugarcane section with soil

3、 Post planting curing

After the sugarcane section is planted, it shall be poured with water and placed in the astigmatic and ventilated place to keep the soil moist. If the curing temperature is low and the air humidity is poor, the sugarcane can be covered with a plastic bag for heat preservation and moisture retention. Open the bag at noon every day for ventilation until the sugarcane sprouts

4、 Growing seedlings

After the sugarcane sprouts, remove the bag and expose it to the sun for at least 5 hours a day to avoid sugarcane overgrowth. When the small seedlings from the sugarcane grow to 20cm high, ensure that there are 1-2 strong seedlings in each sugarcane section, and break off the others with weak growth

5、 Water and fertilizer management

When potting sugarcane, watering should not be too frequent, otherwise sugarcane is prone to yellow leaves and rotten roots. It is best to wait until the surface of the basin soil is white and dry before watering. When the sugarcane grows to 30cm high, fertilization can be started. Farmyard fertilizer can be applied, or compound fertilizer and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can be used together

6： Precautions

If you plant sugarcane in a flowerpot, you must ensure that the flowerpot is large enough. When planting, bury chicken manure at the bottom of the basin as the base fertilizer. After the sugarcane sprouts, you can bask in the sun, and then you can cultivate soil and top fertilizer with the growth of sugarcane
