"Don't plant mulberry before": it's mainly because the word "mulberry" of mulberry tree is homonymous with "mourning", which doesn't have a good meaning. If you see mulberry trees as soon as you go out, you feel like going out to see a funeral, so you don't think it's very auspicious.

"Do not plant willows later": This is mainly because willows are used as materials for funeral supplies such as "funeral sticks" when people do funerals. In order to avoid bad luck, willows will not be planted in the backyard.

"No ghosts in the yard clap hands": This refers to "poplar". Because its leaves are large and dense, as long as the wind blows, it will make a loud noise, especially at night, like "clapping hands", so it is named. If planted in the yard, it will disturb people's rest, so there is this saying.
