1、 Variety introduction

1. Mexican system: the avocado leaves of Mexican system are relatively small, long and oval in shape, with sharp ends. It tastes of fennel when rubbed. Its fruit is not big, its peel is very thin, and its appearance is relatively smooth. Usually, the fruit can mature only 6-8 months after flowering, and the oil content is relatively high. This line has strong cold resistance and light frost resistance. It can even withstand the low temperature of minus 7-8 ℃. The main varieties are green and purple, in addition to Duke, Gant, Mexican La, topatopa and other excellent varieties.

2. West Indian system: the avocado leaves of West Indian system have no fragrance, and the color is yellow green. Its peel is also very smooth, usually leathery, relatively soft, and can be easily separated from the pulp. Because there are many varieties, the size of the fruit is different. The small one is only 100g and the large one can reach 1000g. It has poor cold resistance and can only be planted in tropical low-altitude areas. The common varieties are Harry early maturing, big green, Pollock, valdin and so on.

3. Guatemalan: Guatemalan avocado has large leaves, green color and no fennel flavor. Its fruit is larger than Mexican avocado, with rough pericarp and large seeds. Its cold resistance is between the two. The main varieties are Taft, Harman, Donald and so on.

2、 Variety difference

From the planting area, the Mexican system has strong cold resistance and can be planted in the north, while the West Indian system and Guatemala system can only adapt to the tropical climate. In addition, Mexican leaves have a unique fennel flavor, which is not found in the remaining two. However, the fruit of this strain is not big, and the weight of single fruit is less than that of the other two. Among them, the peel of the West India system is relatively smooth, while the peel of the Guatemala system is rough, so they are also relatively easy to distinguish.
