1、 Watering time
Peony can be watered all year round. Due to its good drought resistance and low demand for water, it is not suitable to irrigate in cloudy and rainy days, otherwise it is easy to be too wet, resulting in bacterial breeding and diseases and pests. Watering is usually carried out on sunny days. It is necessary to avoid noon in summer, otherwise the water evaporates too fast, resulting in the reduction of ground temperature.
2、 Watering interval
Generally, the peony should be watered thoroughly, so it is difficult to control the watering interval. Generally, it should be watered every 5-7 days in spring and autumn, shortened to 2-3 days in summer and once a month in winter. If it is in a humid area, the watering interval can be extended. If it is very dry, it should be watered often.
3、 Water temperature and quality
Pay attention to the water temperature and quality when watering peony. It cannot be poured directly with cold water. It needs to wait until the water temperature is close to the room temperature. In addition, watering with rainwater or river water is better for the growth of plants. If it is tap water, it needs to be placed for a few days until the chlorine volatilizes.
4、 Precautions
Peony is afraid of dampness, so you must not water too much, especially no ponding. If you pour too much water, you need to drain the excess water as soon as possible, and put it in a ventilated place to loosen the soil properly to accelerate the evaporation of water. If the accumulated water has caused the root to rot, it is also necessary to take the plant out of the flowerpot, trim it properly with scissors, and then replant it into dry new soil.
