1、 Morphological characteristics

Milan is a shrub or small tree belonging to Meliaceae. It has many twigs with rusty scales. The length of the leaves is between 5-12 cm, with 3-5 leaflets. Most of the leaflets are opposite and the top is blunt. The flower is a panicle with a certain aroma. The flower is very small, almost as big as rice, yellow in color and 5 petals.

2、 Growth habit

Milan has a certain negative tolerance at the seedling stage, and prefers light when it grows up. It is suitable to grow in warm and humid places and is afraid of cold climate. Generally, it should be planted in loose and fertile acidic soil, and good drainage is particularly important. Be sure to keep warm in winter. If the temperature is lower than 0 ℃, the plants will freeze to death. Flowers cannot bloom below 16 ℃.

3、 Breeding method

1. Light: the growth of Milan needs sufficient light. If the environment is too dark, it will easily lead to plant overgrowth and affect flowering. Usually put it in a sunny place so that it can receive light all day. It should be noted that summer should be properly shaded to avoid strong light exposure.

2. Soil: Milan likes acidic sandy loam rich in humus. If it is prepared by itself, it is generally necessary to use peat soil with sand and mix the two in the proportion of 2:1. Garden soil, compost soil and sand can also be mixed to make the matrix in the ratio of 2:2:1. In addition, put an appropriate amount of cake fertilizer at the bottom of the basin.

3. Watering: Milan generally grows in a humid environment, so it should be watered in time, but not too much, otherwise it will affect the development of plants. If the climate is too dry, the leaves of the plant will wilt. Therefore, in addition to watering, spray water regularly, especially when the temperature is high, spray water on the leaves 1-2 times a day.

4. Fertilization: if Milan does not get enough nutrients during its growth, the quality of plant flowering will decline and the flowering period will be shortened. Daily fertilization should be applied by baifeiqin. Generally, rotten cake fertilizer should be added during the growth period, and it can be applied every 7-10 days. In addition, a little calcium phosphate can be applied before flowering to improve the quality of flowers.
