Pruning method
First of all, during the flowering period of miniature roses, 8-12 cm should be cut off together with the branches under the flowers. It also needs to be re cut before germination in spring. Generally, 3-4 main branches are reserved, and 3-5cm needs to be reserved at the base of each branch p>
Secondly, pay attention to cutting off the residual flowers of miniature rose in time, which is a necessary work. It can concentrate nutrients and promote more flowers and long flowering period. Otherwise, some axillary buds close to the residual flowers are easy to germinate and produce weak branches, which not only consumes the nutrients of the plant, but also destroys the plant shape. Most of the flowers are deformed or poor florets p>
After the first batch of flowers bloom, it is necessary to cut the medium branches and retain 3-4 buds; The weak branches are heavily cut, leaving 1-2 buds; Cut the strong branches lightly and leave about 5 buds to properly inhibit the growth. The second pruning needs to be strictly controlled. Only the upper part of the second leaf under the residual flower needs to be cut down, and the axillary bud of the second leaf needs to be retained p>
After the beginning of autumn, the middle section is adopted for post flower pruning, and 3-4 buds are left for each branch. In order to take care of the balance of plant shape, you can also return to the last batch of flowering branches and cut them up and down. At the same time, cut off diseased branches, over dense branches, bare long branches, overlapping set cross branches, etc. Pruning in winter mainly focuses on shaping, cutting off dead branches, diseased branches, crossed branches and other branches with poor growth. If it is a plant with strong growth and symmetrical plant type, generally cut off one-third of the whole plant. For weak plants, cut off about two-thirds of the whole plant and keep 3-4 strong main branches p>
