1. Different families and genera: lavender is a perennial shrub of lavender in Labiatae, while sage is an annual herb of sage in Labiatae. In terms of classification, although they belong to the same family, they belong to different genera.
2. Different shape: the leaves and flowers of the two are different. Lavender leaves are alternate, linear in shape and look thin and long. The leaves of sage are triangular or oval, and the top is uneven. After flowering, the pedicel of the former is green, the petals are round, and the colors are rich, including blue, purple, pink and so on. The latter has smaller petals and only purple color.
3. Different smell: lavender and sage smell obviously different. Although the smell of lavender is fragrant, it is not strong and smells very comfortable. The smell of sage is a little strong. It smells pungent and uncomfortable for a long time.
4. Different distribution: lavender is native to the Mediterranean coast and distributed in many parts of Europe. It is basically introduced and cultivated in China. Sage generally grows at an altitude of 220-1100 meters, mostly on hillsides and roadsides, and is widely distributed in the south of China.
