1、 Can you live
Carnations need two months to take root after cutting. Before that, they can live without roots, but they can't survive without roots for more than two months. After cutting, it needs to be placed in a suitable environment and pay attention to temperature and humidity. If it is maintained properly, it is still relatively easy to survive p>
2、 How to cut
1. Choose cuttings: in order to ensure the survival of cuttings, carnations with strong growth and no diseases and pests should be selected. Cut the top of the side branch to be 4-9 cm long, and remove all the leaves from the top. Cutting the bottom of the cuttings into an inclined plane to increase the area in contact with the soil is conducive to rooting p>
2. Pot soil preparation: if you want cuttings to take root quickly, you need to provide a good growth environment. The basin soil shall be mainly garden soil, and a little rice husk ash shall be added at the same time. Rice husk ash can not only increase the drainage of soil, but also rich in potassium, which can provide nutrients for the growth of cuttings p>
3. Cutting: cutting can be carried out after dealing with cuttings and pot soil. Insert the cuttings into the soil 2-3cm deep. If you want to cut multiple branches, the distance between each branch should be about 4cm. Water it immediately after insertion and put it in a cool place p>
4. Follow up maintenance: because the cuttings of carnations have a long growth cycle, we must control the temperature and light. The temperature shall be controlled between 10-20 ℃ and can be covered with plastic bags for insulation. At this time, it is not suitable to accept direct light, but can be placed in the semi shade to receive scattered light p>
