1. How do mosses reproduce
Spore propagation: bryophytes are relatively short and do not bloom, so they have no seeds, so spore propagation is generally adopted. A sporophyte usually produces a capsule, and the spores germinate to form gametophytes, which are usually attached to the gametophyte. Gametophytes grow on the substrate with filamentous pseudoroots to absorb water and nutrients, and spores absorb nutrients through gametophytes. When the sporophyte matures, it will spread out from the capsule for reproduction p>
Vegetative reproduction: there are three ways of vegetative reproduction. The first method is "hole planting", which refers to planting five or six plants in one hole at a certain distance from each other. The second way is to "plant in pieces". Spread pieces of moss on the prepared soil, press it a little, and then sprinkle some water. The third way is to "break the stem". Because the growth ability of moss is very strong, it can be cut into sections and sprinkled evenly on the land, and then covered with a thin layer of soil p>
It should be noted that when moss is first planted, its competitiveness is very low and it is easy to be invaded by other plants. Therefore, weeds should be often removed for it. After the moss is densely covered on the surface of the substrate, it will no longer be invaded by weeds p>
2. How to make moss at home
Moss sticking method: take some moss back from the park or nursery, pay attention to retaining some original soil, put it in the flower pot as a whole, and press it gently to make the moss fit with the surface of the pot soil. Then spray some water on the moss surface to keep the environment moist p>
Mossing method: take a piece of sand and stone from the river or pond, put it in a wet and cool place, and spray water once a day. It's best to use stored rainwater or rice washing water. When the temperature is high, you can spray water twice a day, and moss can appear in about four or five days p>
Inoculation method: first prepare the soil, add water to dilute it, and stir it into a thick shape. Then put the moss in the soil, stir it evenly and spread it on the wet stone. Spray water once a day. Generally, moss can be seen after five or six days p>
