When pruning, do not prune old branches, but branches over five years can be pruned, and old leaves that have bloomed can also be pruned

Pruning method

When pruning Lingjian lotus, first of all, it is necessary to design an appropriate height and density according to the size of the flowerpot, and generally keep the plant height at 30-40cm. When the plant of Lingjian lotus grows to 30cm, you can first cut off the growth point on the plant and gently cut it at the tender tip of the stem with a knife, so as to prevent the plant from continuing to grow. Do the same treatment for each stem in the flowerpot, and the whole plant will appear the same height

Secondly, when Lingjian lotus grows, because the stem has stopped growing high and does not grow side buds, it will grow thick and full. If there are side buds, it needs to be cut off in time, and only the side buds growing from the soil can be retained. If the branches are too dense, it can be trimmed by leaving the strong to eliminate the weak. It is necessary to remove too many branches and buds and keep them in 3 to 4 main stems. It is necessary to timely remove too many new buds on the main stems of the arrow lotus, so as not to affect the flowering

Finally, we should trim the old branches, because the branches of Lingjian lotus that have already bloomed are aging and lignified. Generally, they will not bloom again. It is best to cut off the old branches that have already bloomed
