Propagation method of daffodils
Lateral ball reproduction
Lateral bulb propagation is the most common propagation method of daffodils. For the storage balls planted on both sides outside the bulb, only the base is connected with the mother ball, which is easy to separate from the mother ball by itself. Generally, it is separated from the mother ball in autumn, and then planted separately, and a new ball is produced the next year p>
Lateral bud propagation
Lateral buds are those that are wrapped inside the bulb p>
In the process of bulb castration, it will separate from the mother along with the excavated broken scales, and then pick out the white buds, sow them on the seedbed in autumn, and new balls can be produced the next year p>
Double scale reproduction
Double scale propagation refers to the use of bulb discs with two scales as propagation materials. This breeding method has a high ball forming rate and can be carried out in four seasons, and the best is from April to September. There are many lateral buds inside a bulb, some of which are obvious and some are hidden. But usually there are two scales and one bud p>
The specific operations are as follows:
First, put the bulb in a low-temperature environment for about 4-8 weeks, and then cut the bulb disc small at room temperature. Each piece retains two scales. At the same time, cut off the upper end of the scale, leaving 2 cm as breeding material. Prepare a plastic bag and put vermiculite with water content of 50% or sand with water content of 6%, then put the breeding materials into it, close the bag mouth and place it in the dark at 20-28 ℃. Small bulbs can grow in about 2 or 3 months p>
Tissue culture
This method has high requirements and strong professionalism, and is not suitable for family operation p>
