1、 Seeding method

The sowing of antler Rhododendron is generally carried out in April in spring. It is most suitable when the temperature is about 22-24 ℃. Before sowing, pay attention to disinfecting the soil first. The seeds of Rhododendron are relatively small. There is no need to cover the soil after sowing, just press it gently with your hand. It can sprout about two weeks after sowing, but the growth rate of seedlings is relatively slow. When the flowers grow two leaves, they can be transplanted. When transplanting, it is best to use weak acid sandy soil with loose and breathable, fertile nutrition and good drainage, and pay attention to keeping the soil moist. It should be reminded that the staghorn Rhododendron propagated by sowing method needs four or five years to bloom. If you want to see the Rhododendron bloom as soon as possible, you can choose other methods to reproduce

2、 Cutting method

The survival rate of Rhododendron propagated by cutting is very high, and its growth and development is relatively fast and stable. It is the most commonly used breeding method. Cutting is generally carried out in plum rainy season. Select a new strong and tender branch, cut off the leaves at the bottom, and leave several new leaves and buds at the tip. Insert this branch into the soil and compact it, keep the soil moist and maintain it reasonably. It can take about a month and a half to take root and grow. The new seedlings should be properly shaded, and the routine maintenance can be gradually restored after the growth is stable

3、 Grafting method

If the grafting method is used for reproduction, it is more appropriate to carry out in the plum rain season. The Rhododendron is selected as the rootstock and a section of vigorous young branches of antler Rhododendron is selected as the scion. Trim the leaves at the bottom of the scion, keep the young leaves at the top, sharpen the bottom, cut an opening about three centimeters long on the rootstock, and then insert the scion into the incision and bind and fix it. Pay attention to the humidity. The new branches can survive in about two months, and the routine maintenance will be gradually restored in the later stage

4、 Strip pressing method

Banding is generally carried out in spring, and it is most suitable from April to May. Select mature and robust branches, cut and peel them at an appropriate position 10 cm away from the tip, and then press the branches into the soil. Pay attention to keep the soil moist. After growing new roots, cut off the new roots and plant them directly in the pot
