1、 Flowering in a few years
Clivia usually blooms when it grows to 12 leaves. This process takes 2 years. However, if the environment is not suitable or poorly maintained, the plant may need to grow to 14 leaves before flowering. In addition, different varieties take different time. The fastest is the exotic Clivia. The seeds can mature in only five months. The slowest is Clivia, which takes 8-10 years from sowing to flowering p>
2、 Flowering time
The flowering period of Clivia is generally from June to July in summer. If it is well raised, it is not impossible for the plant to blossom all year round. Its flowers are extracted from the scape, funnel-shaped, yellow, orange or orange red in color, and several of them form an umbrella p>
3、 How to promote flower growth
1. Temperature control: the flower stems of Clivia need to be pulled out for flowering. Too high or too low temperature will lead to arrow entrapment. Therefore, the temperature must be controlled well and maintained at about 20 ℃, and the temperature difference between day and night should be between 8-10 ℃ p>
2. Strengthen light: Although Clivia is a short day plant, it does not mean that it is not protected from light. Appropriate light is helpful for plant flowering. The illumination time shall not exceed 8 hours. At the same time, strong light shall be avoided and scattered light shall be accepted p>
3. Proper watering: unlike other flowers, Clivia needs more water during flowering. Once the water is insufficient, it will also affect flowering. In addition to daily watering, you can also spray water appropriately to increase air humidity p>
4. Supplementary fertilizer: timely supplementary fertilizer is also good for the flowering of Clivia. Supplement phosphorus and potassium fertilizer during flowering can promote flowering. Generally, it is used once every 15-20 days to control the amount of nitrogen fertilizer p>
