1、 What is it

It is a kind of vegetable with high edible value. It is also known as the king of vegetables. Its origin is in India. It is resistant to dry heat and has a short growth cycle. It has been widely cultivated. It has also been introduced into Shandong, Hebei, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, Yunnan, Guangdong and other provinces in China

2、 Growth habit

1. Temperature: it likes warm environment and is not resistant to cold. The temperature suitable for seed germination and growth is between 25-30 degrees. Once the monthly average temperature is lower than 17 degrees, it will affect flowering and fruit bearing. The fruit setting rate is the highest at 26-28 degrees

2. Water: it is resistant to drought and humidity, but it is afraid of water logging. Therefore, pay attention to the amount of watering during the management period, and there shall be no ponding. Drainage treatment is required in rainy season. If the humidity is too high, the growth of plants will weaken, and seedlings are easy to be infected with bacterial wilt

3. Light: it is sensitive to light, likes enough light, and requires a certain light duration. Therefore, when planting, we should choose sunny plots and have more ventilation
