1. Excessive watering
Reason: orchids generally don't need much water. Just keep the pot soil of the plant slightly moist. If the amount of watering is not well controlled and exceeds the amount that its roots can absorb, the excess water will accumulate in the soil to form ponding, and then affect the roots, which will slowly soften the roots p>
Measures: take it out of the basin as soon as possible, cut off some broken and rotten roots, and then soak it in potassium permanganate solution or carbendazim solution for 20 or 30 minutes for disinfection, then take it out to dry and plant it in the basin again. During later maintenance, the water volume shall be controlled and watered according to the state of basin soil p>
2. Too little water
Reason: in normal maintenance, if the amount of water poured on the orchid is too small to keep up with the amount of water consumed by the plant, resulting in insufficient water supply, the root of the plant will become soft due to dehydration p>
Measures: it is necessary to supplement water in time, gradually increase the amount of watering, and let the plants slowly absorb water and recover p>
3. Excessive fertilization
Reason: orchids do not have a strong demand for fertilizer, but they have strict requirements for fertilization and do not like concentrated fertilizer. The amount of fertilization should be strictly controlled. If too much fertilizer is applied, the plant cannot absorb it, resulting in excess nutrition, then the residual fertilizer in the basin soil will cause its roots to soften p>
Measures: it needs to be watered in time to dilute the excess fertility in the pot soil and let the excess fertilizer flow out of the drainage hole at the bottom of the flowerpot. Then put it in a ventilated place with scattered light, loosen the soil for it, and let the basin soil dry as soon as possible p>
