Why is Mimosa shy
When touching Mimosa, we can find that the leaves of Mimosa will be closed. This is because there is a part called leaf pillow between the petiole and the base of the leaves, which is the main reason for the shyness of Mimosa. When the leaves of Mimosa are stimulated, the cell fluid of the cells inside the leaf pillow will be discharged, resulting in the imbalance between the upper and lower parts, resulting in the closure of the leaves.
This phenomenon of Mimosa occurs very quickly and takes a short time before and after, but it takes 5-10 minutes to recover.
Mimosa shyness may also have something to do with the environment. Mimosa herb is produced in tropical areas, where it is often rainy weather and often meets with strong winds and rainstorms. Therefore, in order to protect itself, Mimosa will close its leaves in time when encountering rain, which can be said to be biological adaptability.
Why is Mimosa not afraid of shame in winter
In winter, Mimosa, a shy phenomenon, is relatively rare. This is mainly due to the influence of temperature.
In winter, the temperature is very low. Under the influence of low temperature, the cytoplasmic permeability of Mimosa leaves will be weakened, which will lead to its slow response to external stimuli. Therefore, when stimulated, Mimosa leaves will not close so quickly, and it will no longer be shy.
With the gradual decrease of temperature in winter, Mimosa will completely lose this characteristic. Especially on the new leaves, the performance is more obvious.
