Types of flowerpots
To choose the most suitable flowerpot for breeding Clivia, we must first understand what kinds of flowerpots there are. Flower pots can be roughly divided into plastic pots, tile pots and glazed pots.
Plastic basin
The plastic basin has white, green, black and other colors. It is relatively light, easy to handle and not easy to be damaged. There are many holes at the bottom of the flowerpot, which is conducive to drainage. Some plastic pots are equipped with trays at the bottom, which can be used for viewing, but the trays should be removed during cultivation.
clay basin
Tile pots have good ventilation and are suitable for cultivation pots. However, because they are fired at low temperature, they are fragile and easy to be damaged.
Glazed Basin
Many glazed pots are of artistic value and can be used as ornaments in exhibitions. The glazed basin can also be used to cultivate Clivia, but the glazed basin is more expensive, and it is easy to be damaged in the process of cultivation and management. Therefore, after viewing the Clivia in the glazed basin, it should be transplanted into the cultivation basin in time.
Flower pot suitable for breeding Clivia
Because Clivia is a fleshy root, it is drought resistant and afraid of waterlogging. It is suitable for growing in loose and water permeable soil. Therefore, for the selection of flower pots, it also needs to have good water permeability and water permeability. According to this characteristic of Clivia, Xiaobian suggested using clay pots to cultivate Clivia, and selecting appropriate clay pots according to the size of Clivia. Avoid using large pots for small flowers, small pots for large flowers, deep pots for small seedlings, etc. If you can't buy clay pots locally, you can choose plastic pots or porcelain pots instead.
