When does it bloom
Snow orchid is a common indoor ornamental flower in winter, so its flowering period is mostly in winter. Under normal circumstances, fragrant snow orchid is planted in autumn and will bloom in winter and spring. Of course, there will be exceptions. Sometimes the fragrant snow orchid will bloom from March to April. Generally speaking, the flowering period of vanilla is from February to May.
When it blooms, the flowering period is generally about 15 days. The flower stem is a branch or branch, with spike shaped flowers on the top, and about 5-7 flowers will open on each inflorescence. It will bear fruit after flowering.
Factors affecting flowering time
Although the flowering period of vanilla is between February and may, the specific flowering time is not fixed.
In fact, this kind of irregular phenomenon will appear in the flowering period of fragrant snow orchid, which is mainly affected by the planting time of fragrant snow orchid, and in addition, it is affected by the maintenance temperature and light.
If the planting time is in August and September, the flowering time is generally in winter. If it is planted in autumn, the flowering may be in winter and spring. In fact, the planting time will also be affected by the region. In the north, the planting of vanilla can be carried out in September and later in the south.
The effect of temperature is mainly reflected in the differentiation of flower buds, because when the temperature is kept at the low temperature of 8 ℃ - 13 ℃, the flower buds are easier to differentiate. If the temperature is lower than 18 ℃, the flowering period will be delayed. If the temperature is higher, it can blossom early, but the plant is easy to weaken.
The effect of light mainly refers to the time of light. Under the condition of short sunshine, the flower bud differentiation of vanilla will be better. After flower bud differentiation, long sunshine can also blossom early.
