1、 Differences in varieties
In terms of plant classification, both taro and green pineapple belong to the order Australasia. Not only that, they also belong to the same family. Although the order and family are the same, but the genera and species are different, which are conus and Malus respectively, indicating that there are obvious differences between the two p>
2、 Different morphological characteristics
The young leaves of taro are different from the old leaves, in other words, they have two types of leaves. The new leaf is shaped like an arrow or halberd, and its color is light green. The old leaves are palm shaped or shield shaped, and some varieties have butterfly wing shaped leaves. Its leaves are thick and dark green. The color of leaf veins is lighter than the surrounding mesophyll, often yellowish white, which leads to the uneven color of the whole leaf. The leaf shape of different kinds of fruit taro is also relatively changeable p>
The petiole of green pineapple is relatively strong, and the ventral surface has a wide groove. The leaf blade is wide ovate with small thickness, and the edge is neat without split teeth. The petiole is deep heart-shaped. The leaves with good growth and health are emerald green in color. The color of leaf veins is similar to that of surrounding leaves without obvious difference. The color of the whole leaf is uniform, and the leaf surface is smooth and shiny p>
3、 The requirements of growth environment are different
High temperature and humid environment is most conducive to the growth of fruit taro. The most suitable temperature is about 22 ℃ to 30 ℃. Fruit taro is not cold resistant. At a lower temperature (about 15 degrees Celsius), its growth is inhibited. At about 10 degrees Celsius, it stops growing completely, and the leaves below 5 degrees Celsius will be frostbitten p>
Green pineapple also likes the environment with high temperature and humidity. Unlike fruit taro, it is a shade loving plant and is more sensitive to direct sunlight. It is not as adaptable to light as fruit taro. Therefore, scattered light can be used for cultivation. Green pineapple needs a lot of water, so it can maintain its good growth by completely cultivating it in hydroponic culture p>
