The leaf diameter of Illicium is about 30 cm, oval or oval oblong, about 2.5 to 4 cm long and 5 to 7 cm wide. There are 4 to 9 shallow cracks on the edge, which are wide triangular. The upper petiole is 1 to 3 cm long and the lower petiole is about 12 to 25 cm long
