The blue snowflake grows on the short stalk of the branch end and the upper 1-3 leaf axils. The corolla tube is purplish red and the lobes are blue. The flowering period is from July to September

The plant height of blue star flower is about 30-60 cm, and the stem is semi trailing with dense white hair. The blue snowflake is shorter than the former, usually 20-30 cm, and the stem is thin and weak
