1、 Basin soil
Taxus chinensis likes slightly acidic soil, and alkaline soil will cause poor growth and even death. For the texture of the soil, it is required to be properly loose. If it is too loose, it doesn't like it very much. The general garden soil can be mixed with rotten leaf soil. In order to have good drainage, it can be mixed with river sand and perlite p>
2、 Light
Taxus chinensis has special requirements for light. It is shade resistant in the seedling period of one to three years. After three years, the requirements for light will be higher and higher, and it needs full light after adulthood p>
3、 Moisture
During the curing period, yew requires the basin soil to keep slightly wet and can not be completely dry, but it is also afraid of ponding, because it is easy to cause rotten roots p>
4、 Pruning
Regular pruning shall be carried out during maintenance, mainly to pick the heart of the tender shoot during germination, so as to promote its lateral branches and make the branches shorter and denser. If not trimmed, the branches will grow very slender and then droop to cover the lower leaves. The covered leaves will die due to lack of sunlight, and the branches at the bottom will fall off after a long time p>
5、 Precautions
Yew has relatively few diseases and insect pests, so family maintenance should not pay too much attention to this problem p>
If Taxus chinensis blooms and seeds, its aril can be eaten, and other parts are toxic. We are not recommended to eat it, or take it directly as a drug. Its effective components must be extracted and processed before they can be effective p>
