1、 Cutting time
Red leaf plum is not suitable for cutting in spring. If you want to propagate by cutting, you should choose autumn. Usually, when it reaches half of the fallen leaves in autumn, cutting can be carried out at this time. The time is from November to December, and try not to exceed the middle of December at the latest. However, warmer areas can be slightly later p>
2、 Cutting method
1. Branch selection: cut a section of branches with good growth from the mother tree that has grown for 3-4 years. There should be full buds on the branches, and there should be no traces of damage and insect pests p>
2. Soil: clean sandy loam shall be prepared first, and carbendazim or potassium permanganate shall be used for disinfection before use. After disinfection, add some base fertilizer and prepare it for standby p>
3. Treatment: the lower end of the branch should be cut into an inclined plane, so that it can better contact the soil. Then put it into clean water for a quarter of an hour, and then dip in an appropriate amount of rooting powder, which will be more conducive to its rooting p>
4. Cutting: after dealing with the branches, carefully insert them into the soil, and there should be a certain distance between the branches. The buds at the upper end of the branches should be exposed to the ground for about 0.5-1cm, and cannot be completely buried in the soil p>
