The survival rate of Gardenia cutting in spring is the highest. The temperature is stable at this time, which is very suitable for the growth of Gardenia. In general, as long as the cutting method is correct, the survival rate can reach almost 100%. April in spring is more suitable. In areas with slightly higher temperatures, it is recommended to carry out it in advance to about February to March, while in areas with relatively low temperatures, it can be postponed to about April to May

2、 Cutting method

1. Select cuttings: use sharp scissors to cut a section of branches with good growth, preferably 1-2 years old. There should be no damage on the branches, let alone the traces of being invaded by diseases and pests

2. Prepare the soil: when cutting, you need to use a clean substrate, which should be exposed to the sun for disinfection before use. It also needs to meet the requirements of good air permeability and softness, which is more conducive to the rooting of branches

3. Handle the cuttings: the leaves at the bottom of the cuttings need to be trimmed off. Just keep the top 3-4 leaves. The lower cut of the branch needs to be cut into an inclined plane to make it better contact with the substrate. The upper incision shall be cut flat at the position 1-2cm away from the bud point

4. Cutting into soil: after treatment, carefully insert it into the soil, press it with the surrounding soil, and pour it with water
