How to Make Wall Pot Plant Holder
Wall pot plant holders are a great way to spruce up your walls with some greenery. Not only do they add a touch of nature to any room, but they also save space on the floor. Here's how you can make your own wall pot plant holder.
Materials Needed
Terra cotta pots
Cotton or jute rope
Scissors
Drill with a 1/2 inch drill bit
Pencil or marker
Measuring tape
Potting soil & plants
Instructions
Measure the length of rope you need. To do this, roughly estimate how long you want the holder to be from the pot's rim to the knot, and then double this length to account for folding the rope in half. Add an extra 12 inches to tie the knot and make a loop for hanging.
Cut the rope according to your measurement, and fold it in half. Tie an overhand knot at the end, leaving a loop big enough to fit around the hook you'll use for hanging later.
Hold the two rope ends together, and find their midpoint. Measure the distance you want between the pots (usually 1 to 2 feet) and mark it at this point on the rope, measuring from the knot you made above.
Drill two 1/2 inch holes in the pot at the same height on opposite sides. Clean up any rough edges with sandpaper.
Thread the two ends of the rope through the holes of the pot from the inside outwards, and tie a double knot to secure the pot. Repeat the same steps for as many pots as you want to hang.
Add potting soil to the pot, slightly below the rim. Choose plants that suit the lighting conditions and that also flow nicely, like ferns or vines. Insert the plants and carefully arrange them in the pot.
Knot another overhand knot to make a loop at the top of each rope end. Hang the pots on hooks or hangers around a wall, and adjust the knot positions for a parallel display.
Water the plants when they require it, but be careful not to overwater. Remember, the pots may need extra watering due to their elevated position.
Enjoy your new DIY wall pot plant holder and the beautiful greenery it adds to your decor!
It's that easy to make your own wall pot plant holder. With a few simple materials and some creativity, you can transform your walls into a lush and vibrant space that you'll enjoy every day. Have fun!
