1、 Cutting time
The cutting of camellia is mostly carried out in spring and autumn, generally in September. In summer, cuttings tend to rot before rooting due to high temperature, while in winter, cuttings grow slowly and the survival rate is lower p>
2、 Cutting method
1. Select branches: cut about 10cm annual semi lignified branches. Keep the upper three leaves and remove the rest. At the same time, cut the branches obliquely to make the incision have greater contact area with the soil. The incision can be dipped in rooting water, which helps to take root quickly p>
2. Basin soil preparation: the configuration of basin soil is relatively simple. Camellia is suitable to grow in acidic soil, and the soil is required to be loose. It is suitable to select rotten leaf soil and add a certain amount of sandy soil and a small amount of peat soil, which can not only increase drainage, but also effectively improve the alkalinity of soil p>
3. Cutting maintenance: insert a 5cm long hole in the basin soil with chopsticks, and then insert the branches into it. It is not suitable to water directly after cutting, but spray water appropriately to keep the soil moist. Plant it in a cool place and wait for it to take root p>
