1、 Cutting time
Chinese rose cutting is generally carried out in spring and autumn. If tender bud cutting is used, it is appropriate in April to may or September to October. If you use branch cutting, it is better in early spring and late autumn p>
2、 Cutting method
1. Choose branches: good branches are the first step to successful cutting. Generally, lignified hard branches are selected, with a length of 10-15 cm and at least 3-4 buds. Remove the leaves at the base of the hardwood and cut the lower incision into an inclined plane to increase the contact area with the soil, which is conducive to rooting p>
2. Basin soil preparation: rose is not suitable for growing in alkaline environment, so acidic soil containing humus should be selected. River sand can be properly added to increase its drainage. Cutting soil generally does not add base fertilizer, which is unfavorable to plant rooting p>
3. Cutting: poke a 5cm deep hole in the basin soil with chopsticks and insert the branches into the hole. After compacting the soil, pour it into water. If the temperature is very low, you can build a small shelf with wooden strips, wrap it with plastic film and put it in a sunny place p>
4. Subsequent maintenance: whether the branches can survive mainly depends on three factors: ventilation, temperature and moisture. Uncover the film regularly every day to ventilate the branches and ensure their air circulation. The temperature is controlled at about 23-27 ℃, which is suitable for branch rooting. Water should not be too much, just spray water moderately p>
