1、 Branch shrinking time
Shrinking branches for black pine is mainly to force it to grow buds. Therefore, the time for branch shrinking should be around March to April in spring, when the temperature rises to more than 15 ℃. However, it should be noted that only when the plant grows strong to a certain extent can it shrink branches. If the plant is not old enough and has just survived, it is not suitable to shrink branches. Otherwise, it will affect its growth p>
2、 Branch shrinking method
The method of reducing branches mainly depends on the distribution of branches and buds on the plant. If the branches and needles grow well, but there are no new buds, they can grow new buds by pulling out a few needles. If the branch has new buds, but the number is small, these new buds can be pulled out to make it grow more leaf buds again p>
3、 Precautions
1. After shrinking the branch, you need to put it in a place with sunshine to let the position where you want to grow buds receive some soft sunshine. This will speed up its bud growth p>
2. For branches that do not want to sprout, pruning is not required. However, if the branches are too long, they should also be cut short in time, so as not to affect the beauty of the whole bonsai p>
