How to Hollow a Tree Stump to Make a Planter

Tree stumps are often seen as an eyesore in gardens or yards once a tree has been cut down. However, turning a tree stump into a planter can be a great way to repurpose it and add some unique character to your outdoor space. Here are some steps to help you hollow out a tree stump and turn it into a planter.

Step 1: Choose the Right Stump

The first thing you need to do is choose a stump that will work well as a planter. Ideally, you want a stump that is at least 18 inches in diameter and has a relatively flat top. This will give you enough space to hollow it out and plant flowers or other plants inside.

Step 2: Gather Your Tools

You'll need a few basic tools to hollow out the tree stump, including a chainsaw or reciprocating saw, a drill with various sized bits, and a chisel. Safety gear is also important, including gloves, goggles, and ear protection.

Step 3: Cut the Stump to the Desired Height
