Pruning does not start as soon as winter comes. It can be carried out one month after natural defoliation in autumn and 20 days before germination in the second year. This period of time is more appropriate. If the time is too early, the tree has not yet entered dormancy. At this time, pruning will cause damage to many trees. If the time is too late, the trees will soon germinate, which has an impact on the later growth

2、 Pruning method

1. Pruning the main vine: for the main vine, it needs to be shrunk and sheared to ensure the healthy growth of the main vine. The dense branches, disease and pest branches, old branches and weak branches on the main vine should be cut off, so that nutrients can be supplied to the main vine in a centralized way, which can ensure the later results of the main branches. However, during pruning, pay attention to that the incision should not be too close to the main branches

2. Results mother vine: the pruning of these branches should be determined according to the specific situation, growth trend and thickness. If there are more high-quality buds, 8-12 buds can be left for pruning. If there are few high-quality buds, only between 3-5 buds, 2-7 buds need to be left for pruning

3. Other branches: for other branches, the main principle is to leave strong branches, cut off weak branches and remove branches with poor growth
