1、 Planting time
Hawthorn seedlings are generally planted from October to November in autumn. This is its dormancy period. It has enough time to adapt to the environment and will not cause the loss of water and nutrients. It is not suitable to plant in the germination period in spring. At this time, its nutrients are supplied to the leaves and buds. It is difficult to take root after planting, resulting in poor growth and even gradual death p>
2、 Planting method
1. Land selection and soil turning: Hawthorn seedlings are suitable to grow in deep, loose and fertile soil. The terrain should be higher to avoid flooding in the rainy season. Turn the surface soil about 30 cm deep, and then level it to facilitate planting p>
2. Seedling selection and pruning: the seedlings that have grown up should be planted with strong branches and stems without the invasion of diseases and pests. The seedlings should be properly trimmed before planting, 2-3 mixed buds should be retained, and the bone dry branches should be thinly cut p>
3. Planting: dig a hole in the selected place, a little deeper. Fill the excavated topsoil in a little, and mix in a little base fertilizer at the same time. After half filling, plant the saplings inside and compact them while filling. After planting, pour water and gently lift the saplings to make the root contact more closely with the soil p>
4. Subsequent maintenance: as hawthorn seedlings are transplanted during dormancy, there is little demand for fertilizer and water at this time. Daily watering should not be too much, and the water temperature should also be well controlled. Do not use cold water for watering, so as to prevent freezing damage to the root. At the same time, do not apply fertilizer to avoid the accumulation of fertilizer and burn the root at the beginning of spring p>
