1、 Grafting technique
1. Time: select a good time when grafting walnut trees. The more suitable time is between March and April. Usually, it can be grafted in the middle and late March p>
2. Scion: the most robust branches should be used. After cutting, the leaves should be cut off and the petiole of 2cm should be retained. At this time, it is best to graft as soon as possible. If you want to wait for a while, wrap it with a wet cloth p>
3. Treatment: cross cut at 0.5cm above the upper bud of scion and 0.5cm below the petiole, and then cut longitudinally on both sides of the petiole to remove the bud. According to the length of the cut bud, it shall be cut horizontally on the rootstock, and the outer side shall be cut longitudinally to pry off its skin p>
4. Grafting: stick the bud to the cutting position of the rootstock, and then wrap it with plastic bag or tape. It should be noted that its petiole and buds should be exposed p>
2、 Post management
1. About 10 days after grafting, we should check it. If it doesn't survive, it needs to be repaired as soon as possible. The method to judge whether it survives is also very simple. If the petiole falls off or its buds begin to sprout, it means it survives p>
2. After grafting, we should know the local weather in advance and don't let it get wet, otherwise it will hinder its survival. In addition, when the new after survival grows to about 5cm, the bound film can be uncovered p>
