1、 Growth process
1. Germination period: the germination period mainly refers to the period from the sowing of gourd to its first leaf. Under suitable conditions such as temperature and moisture, it generally takes about 5 ~ 7 days p>
2. Seedling stage: after the true leaves expand, they gradually grow and carry out photosynthesis to provide nutrients for the continuous growth of seedlings. The period from the first true leaf to 4 ~ 5 true leaves is the seedling stage, which takes about 25 days p>
3. Early flowering: it refers to the stage when the first female flower appears and opens to the first root. Generally, it takes about 20-25 days from seedling colonization to flowering and fruit setting of the first female flower p>
4. Melon setting stage: the melon setting stage is from the first root to the end of harvest. The surface of the fruit is smooth. It is green at the initial stage, and then it will turn white or yellow, and the upper part is smaller than the lower part. The melon bearing period is generally about 50 days p>
2、 Breeding method
1. Soil: it has strong growth ability and low requirements for soil. General soil can meet its growth conditions. However, the most suitable soil for planting is fertile, with good drainage and water permeability and soil pH value of about 7, which is conducive to its better growth and increase yield p>
2. Temperature: it likes a warm growing environment. When planting, try to keep the temperature at about 15 degrees, which is conducive to its rooting and germination, and improve the germination rate and survival rate. During the growth process, keep the temperature at about 20 degrees, not too high or too low p>
3. Moisture: it has high requirements for moisture, and it needs to be supplemented with sufficient moisture in time during the growth process. Especially in the flowering and fruiting period, the demand for water will increase. However, the amount of water should be controlled between harvesting to avoid excessive water and reduce the storage resistance of gourd p>
4. Light: gourd has a great demand for light. When planting, we must choose a place with good lighting conditions. It is best to choose an open place for planting. If you plant gourds at home, you'd better choose the balcony at home or the top floor with sufficient light for maintenance p>
