1、 Pruning time
Peach blossom pruning is divided into growth period pruning and dormancy period pruning. Pruning during the growth period is mostly in summer, which can be carried out from germination to shoot stopping, usually from May to August. During the dormancy period, pruning should be carried out in late autumn or early winter after falling leaves in autumn until budding in the next spring. At this time, the damage to the plant is the least and the wound is easier to heal p>
2、 Pruning method
1. Pick the heart: pick the heart in the first year after peach blossom transplanting, and cut the top bud of the plant, so as to avoid its overgrowth and promote the development of lateral branches. Of course, for the terminal bud of the branch, you can also pick the heart, which can make the branch more full and the flower bud fuller at the same time p>
2. Twisting the tip: the function of twisting the tip is to transform the original bare branch into a fruiting branch. Generally, it is carried out when the new tip is 30 cm long. The position of twisting the tip is 15 cm away from the base. Twist it by hand to ensure that the xylem and phloem are twisted, but do not break p>
3. Branching: for some places where the growth is too dense, the lighting conditions can be improved by branching, and the ventilation can be enhanced at the same time. The branch pulling is mostly carried out in spring and summer, and the angle of pulling is about 80 °. If the degree of pulling is not enough, its growth can not be improved p>
4. Girdling: peel off the cortex of peach blossom branches. In this way, the sieve tube can be cut off to hinder the transportation of nutrients, so as to improve the quality of flower buds and the ability of fruit bearing. In addition to girdling, nutrient transport can also be cut off by cutting, once to promote germination and branching p>
