1、 Planting time
The seeds of Paeonia lactiflora should be collected and sown at the same time. The maturity time of seeds in different regions is different. For example, Heilongjiang generally matures in early September, while Shandong, Jiangsu and other places generally mature in late August, and Henan in early August, mostly in autumn. At this time, sowing can release the dormancy state earlier, which is conducive to rooting and germination, and the germination rate in spring is relatively low p>
2、 Seed selection and germination
Select the peony seeds with full particles, remove the dry ones, then soak them in water and pick out the empty seeds floating on them. The remaining seeds should be soaked in warm water at 50 ℃ and can be taken out for sowing after 24 hours. By soaking seeds to let it absorb water, it can make its germination more overall, and the seedling emergence rate can be increased to 80% p>
3、 Soil preparation
Peony is suitable to grow in loose and fertile sandy loam. Generally, it should be prepared with garden soil, river sand and pine needle. The three can be mixed in the proportion of 5:3:2. Among them, river sand can increase the drainage of soil and avoid flooding of plant roots. Pine needles need to be fully decomposed, which can not only ensure the acidity of the soil, but also have a certain water retention effect p>
4、 Sowing and curing
Sprinkle the seeds of peony on the soil surface, cover it with a layer of fine soil, and water it appropriately to keep it moist. After sowing, it needs to be covered with plastic film, which can keep warm and moisturize, so as to avoid frostbite of plants in winter. After the next spring, when the climate becomes warm and the plants grow again, they can be removed, properly exposed to light and supplemented with a little fertilizer p>
