1、 How long does it take to take root
If camellia is propagated by layering method, it usually takes a month to take root. It should be noted that the plants just rooted cannot be transplanted. The new roots are not enough to absorb water and nutrients for plant growth. The original plants also need to provide certain water and fertilizer. It usually takes half a year until the new roots grow p>
2、 Strip propagation
1. Layering time: the layering time of camellia is generally in spring and autumn, which is the growth period of the plant. There is sufficient water and fertilizer supply to ensure that it can grow new roots. Because the soil is wet, it is not only difficult to survive in summer, but also very easy to rot p>
2. Branch selection and girdling: if you want to take root on the branches of Camellia, you must have a wound. Generally, girdling should be carried out on the branches. Usually one layer can be peeled, or two layers can be peeled. The width of each layer is 2 cm, and the two layers are also 2 cm apart, which can increase the probability of rooting and prevent wound healing p>
3. Wrap wet soil: after girdling Camellia branches, wrap wet soil at the girdling place to provide a rooting environment. First mix the rooting powder and bactericide with laterite, make it into rooting mud, and wrap it around the wound. Then prepare some water moss, wrap it again from the outside, and tie it tightly with plastic bags to ensure the humidity inside p>
4. Cut off transplanting: regularly observe the substrate in the plastic bag. If the substrate is white, it indicates that there is a lack of water. You need to inject a little water with a needle barrel. If it is too wet, you can tie several holes in the bag to drain water. Usually, after half a year, the roots have grown stronger, which can be divided and replanted to other places p>
