What You Need to Know About Planting Easter Lily Bulbs

Easter lilies are a symbol of renewal, purity, and hope. Their majestic white flowers have been associated with the Easter season for centuries. If you want to enjoy a crop of these beautiful blooms in your garden this spring, you need to know when to plant your Easter lily bulbs. Choose the Right Time to Plant

The ideal time to plant your Easter lily bulbs is in the fall, preferably between September and October. This gives the bulbs enough time to establish their roots and get ready for the following spring. Planting too early in the season could lead to the bulbs starting to grow prematurely, which can reduce the quality of the flowers.

Prepare the Soil

Once you have chosen the right time to plant your bulbs, it鈥檚 time to prepare the soil. Easter lilies need well-draining soil with a pH between 6.0 and 6.5. If your soil is too acidic, add some lime to raise the pH. If it鈥檚 too alkaline, add some sulfur to lower the pH.
