Cutting

The cutting of banyan tree is generally selected in spring. Cut the 1-2-year-old branches and cut them into 5-15 cm long. Each section contains 3-4 bars. Remove the lower leaves and only keep the upper one. When the leaves are large, they can be tied into a barrel with thin rope

The prepared branches are inserted into the soil for 1 / 3. After cutting, they are covered with plastic film for moisturizing. The temperature is controlled at 25 ℃ for 30 ~ 45 days for root germination. After rooting, it can be planted in pots

Batten

The family can also adopt the method of pressing branches for propagation. Part of the branches can be buried in the soil and watered after compaction. The operation is simple. Generally, it can take root in about 30 days. Select the two-year-old branches, peel the smooth parts of the branches with a width of 1 ~ 1.5cm, then wrap them with wet peat or moss, and finally wrap them with plastic film. After binding, tie some small holes in the film, and then potted them after growing roots

Grafting

The common method of banyan grafting is green branch grafting. Select the healthy branches that are growing and have not been capped, and select the more beautiful rootstocks for grafting. Watering should be reduced before grafting

When grafting, the length of scion is 2 ~ 3cm, and the lower end is cut into V-shape. Cut into the top of the rootstock, cut a knife edge of about 1 meter downward with the blade, and insert the scion. Then tie it tightly with plastic film, pour it into the water, put it in a well ventilated and bright place, and uncover the film for ventilation once a day. Generally, it can survive and untie after about 45 days
