Preparation before sowing

Because the seeds of starry flowers are relatively small, a hole plate is prepared as a seedling raising facility

The matrix generally adopts humus rich, well drained and sterile soil with clay content of 10% - 20%. Some coconut fiber, perlite and other substances can be properly added. The matrix also needs iron chelates and trace nutrients, with pH value of 6.5-6.8 and EC Value of 0.75ms/cm

Seeding steps

The seeds shall be sown in the hole tray or seedling tray, and one seed shall be sown in each hole. The hole size of hole planting shall be 1.5-2 cm

Germinate about 10-14 days after sowing, control the growth temperature at 23 ℃ - 26 ℃, and keep the relative humidity in the air at 100% until the leaves grow

During germination, it is necessary to fully water to accelerate the dissolution of the outer layer of pollen and promote germination

7-9 weeks after sowing, the flowers can be transplanted into pots. The diameter of the pot is preferably 10-15 cm. The cultivation substrate is sterile peat soil with a little fertilizer and good drainage, and the pH value is 6.5-6.8

Precautions for sowing

Before sowing, apply one or two kilograms of fully balanced fertilizer and slow-release fertilizer per cubic meter in the matrix to keep the soil fertile and provide sufficient nutrients for seeds

In the growth stage of plug seedling, the relative humidity should be reduced to 50% to prevent leaf diseases

If the illuminance is kept stable at 1000 lux during germination, the new buds will grow neatly and have high quality. After germination, the illuminance is maintained at 10000-25000 lux. As the seedlings grow, the illumination must be increased to 50000 lux and the temperature must be controlled

After germination, the seedlings should be exposed to sunlight as soon as possible to avoid overgrowth and promote the rapid growth of plants
