Understanding pollination
The part where a flower spits dew is the stigma of the pistil, which will transport pollen to the ovary to complete the pollination process. The stigma will burst on the second or third day when the bud is fully opened. This is the best time for pollination. Early or too late will cause pollination failure p>
The Yellow explosive head on the outer ring of flower B is the pollen on the stamen. You must wait until the pollen explodes in this way before you can use it p>
First step
Break off the sepals, petals and stamens around the two flowers for use. Breaking off the sundries outside the pistil can avoid interference during pollination and is conducive to seed collection p>
Step two
Break off the stamens from petal B and wipe the flower head of a with pollen. It's good to clearly see that the stigma is covered with pollen p>
Step 3
Write notes and mark the pollinated plants with small pieces of paper. If the parents' information is not written clearly, there will be "unknown" varieties p>
It's good to wait for the seeds to mature after fleshy pollination. Many seed pods that have been successfully pollinated will crack, and later will crack larger with the improvement of maturity until the seeds can be seen. Therefore, it's best to put a small box under the seed pods that have matured in succession, so as to collect the seeds that have fallen due to the cracking of seed pods p>
