Watering

Chrysanthemum should be watered two or three days before grafting. The watering parts are rootstock and scion mother plant, in order to increase the water content of rootstock and scion

Spray water

Water should be sprayed on the rootstock and scion mother plant one or two hours before chrysanthemum grafting. Special attention should be paid to wait until all the water on the leaves evaporates before grafting

Bag preparation

Prepare enough plastic bags, soak them in water, and apply them after grafting

Grafting method of Chrysanthemum

Split joint method. The selection of scion is the top tip of chrysanthemum seedling with a length of 5 ~ 7cm, leaving two or three leaves at the top, and removing the larger leaves in the lower half. Then use a double-sided knife to cut the scion into a wedge with a length of 1.5cm. After cutting, put it in your mouth and pay attention to avoid being stained with saliva. After that, the rootstock shall be cut from the grafted part. The method is to use a knife to split it from the middle of the rootstock. The depth shall be slightly longer than or the same as the scion section (1.5 ~ 2cm). Insert the scion into the split small opening, align the formation layer of the two, tightly wrap the interface with plastic strips from top to bottom, and apply soil on the cross section to achieve the effect of moisturizing. Finally, put the prepared plastic bag on it and tie the bag mouth. Management of chrysanthemum after grafting

Shade the chrysanthemum in time after grafting. If it is a chrysanthemum with a small grafting area, all the grafting parts can be covered with soaked newspaper or kraft paper with the help of bamboo pole support. If it is a chrysanthemum with large grafting area, the shading tool can choose the shading net. If the scion does not lose water and wilt, the shade can be removed after six or seven days of shading. Spray water three or four times a day on sunny days, and increase the vent on the plastic bag at the same time. When the weather is dry, spray a small amount of water into the plastic bag, so that the scion can gradually adapt to the external environment. Once the scion in the plastic bag is wilted or dead, it shall be repaired in time. About 20 days later, the scion began to grow rapidly. At this time, the plastic strips tied to the scion should be removed in time
