Cutting propagation

Prunus is a kind of bamboo propagation, and most of them are not exceptional. For hanging bamboo plum, cutting propagation is the easiest, most basic and most used propagation method. It can be carried out all year round, but the spring and autumn temperature is the most suitable for cutting

Specific method: cut the main stem or lateral branches of the well-growing hanging bamboo plum plant as the cuttings. The length should not be too long, preferably 8 to 10 cm. After simple treatment, it can be directly inserted into the pot soil prepared in advance. The soil matrix is garden soil mixed with organic fertilizer or small stones. The length of branches embedded in the soil can be two to three internodes to keep the soil moist and take root in about seven to ten days

Generally, three knives and four branches are enough to reproduce. After being inserted, they should be placed in a cool place to take root. After small new buds grow, they can be moved to a place with light for cultivation. Fertilization should not be too frequent. Liquid fertilizer and water once a month is enough for their growth needs. When the new stem grows to a certain extent, it is necessary to pick the heart in time to help it branch, which is conducive to the beauty of the plant type

Ramet propagation

In addition to cutting propagation, Phyllostachys praecox can also be propagated separately. For pot raised Phyllostachys praecox, when it is mature and the branches and vines cover the whole basin, it can be propagated separately when it needs to change the basin in spring to reduce damage. Take out the flourishing mother plant from the pot, cut the stronger sprouting seedlings with roots, plant them in another flower pot, and wait for them to grow new branches. After cutting the stem in the open field, you can also choose to plant it in the open field again

Hanging bamboo plum has strong growth ability. Whether cutting propagation or branch propagation, it is relatively simple, easy to use and easy to feed. In addition to ordinary bamboo, it can hang its branches in the air
