The temperature gradually rises in spring. The best time for Clivia to go out of the room is after the Qingming Festival, but in cold areas, it needs to be delayed for about half a month

Remember to ventilate indoors for two days before leaving the room, adapt to the outside temperature in advance, and then gradually move out of the room, mainly to make Clivia adapt to the changing environment. After moving out of the room, it must be placed in a place with light for maintenance

For mature Clivia, the pots are usually changed after flowering in spring, or when they are moved out of the room

First, remove the old soil and withered roots after removing the pot, and replace it with new soil. The new pot is larger than the original pot, so that the plant can grow again

If the plant has roots, the tiller buds at the root should be cut off with a sterilized knife. If the plant cannot have roots, it can be broken off by hand, and then the wound is coated with sulfur yellow powder to help the plant prevent corrosion and avoid festering

Tiller buds with roots are planted in small pots on a single plant. Those without roots need to be cultivated with fine sand first, and can be maintained in pots after rooting

Watering and fertilization

Because the temperature rises gradually in spring, the plant will enter the initial stage of growth, so a lot of water is needed during the growth period, but do not water too much, just keep the basin soil moist

Clivia grows slowly in winter, and its own nutrients have been consumed a lot. Especially in the flowering period, there is almost no nutrients left. It must be supplemented in time and in appropriate amount, so that Clivia can grow better in spring
