Tip 1: pick the heart
Whether it's cutting or sowing geranium, if you want it to explode, you must pick the heart and top it. An upright geranium generally needs to pick the heart 1-2 times, and a hanging Geranium needs to pick the heart 3-4 times. The operation steps of coring are as follows:
First heart pick
When the geranium seedling grows to 10 cm, it can pick the heart p>

Cut off the place indicated by the red line and let the geranium send out more lateral branches. If there are more lateral branches, there will be more flowers. Generally, you will get 4-5 branches at a time p>
Second heart pick

After heart picking

A few weeks after the first heart picking, many lateral branches will grow on the geranium trunk. When the lateral branches grow to about cm, the second heart picking will still leave 5-6 leaves on each branch, and the rest will be cut off p>
Third to fourth heart picking
(author: time is not enough. Source: stepping on flowers)
After 2 times of plucking, the approximate plant shape of Geranium has come out. If you are still dissatisfied, you can continue to top for the third and fourth times until a large flower ball is formed p>
Remove early bud
If there are flower buds during the period, they can be removed to avoid wasting nutrients and wait for the final flowering outbreak p>
Trick 2: fertilization
If you want to let Geranium see the big flower ball admired by adults, fertilization is essential p>
Base fertilizer
When the geranium is put into the basin, add some base fertilizer at the bottom. You can use chicken manure, dog manure or compound fertilizer. Lay another layer of soil on the base fertilizer and plant Geranium to avoid burning roots p>
Fertilization in growth period
Fertilization during growth period: after the geranium is planted and rooted, liquid fertilizer can be applied slowly. You can use "biwang" to mix it according to the proportion of biwang: water = 1:800. Apply thin fertilizer to the geranium 2-3 times a month. Don't be too much and work too hard. During the period, cooperate with topping to ensure sufficient light p>
Fertilization before flowering
Before Geranium blooms in spring, we need to apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. We can use "must blossom" according to the ratio of "must blossom: water = 1:800". Just apply it once a week p>
Trick 3: light and soil temperature
1. Illumination
Like light, it's best to put it in a place with plenty of light all year round. And turn the basin 180 degrees every week, so that each side of the whole Geranium receives light evenly, so as to grow full large flower balls p>
2. Soil
In fact, Geranium does not have high requirements for soil. General garden soil is OK. Loosen it a little, and then add some cinder. The ratio of cinder to soil can be 1:4 or 1:5. If there is perlite, you can sprinkle some perlite p>
3. Temperature
Geraniums like to be warm and cool. They stop growing when the temperature is higher than 35 degrees in summer and move indoors when the temperature is lower than minus 4 degrees in winter. More ventilation, especially indoor Geranium< span>
