1 temperature and humidity
First of all, cutting must meet certain conditions - temperature and humidity. These two are the key factors for the success of cutting p>
Generally, the temperature of cutting is controlled at 20-30 ℃ (this temperature is most suitable for plant rooting)
Generally, the humidity of cutting is controlled at 70% - 80% (high humidity can reduce the evaporation and promote its rooting)
If the temperature and humidity cannot meet the above requirements, you can find a transparent box to cover it to simulate the climate conditions of the greenhouse. But remember to ventilate them every day, usually 3-5 hours p>
2. Cuttings selection
Generally, the cuttings are made of 1-2-year-old robust branches with a length of 5-10cm. It is required that the branches must have about 3 leaves (for plants such as Hydrangea with large leaves, the leaves need to be halved to reduce evaporation) p>
You can also use the branches that have finished flowering for cutting p>
When inserting cuttings into the soil, be sure to insert the leaf axil of the plant into the soil (this part is the main place for plants to take root)
3 Soil
We must not think that the soil of cutting doesn't matter. We can change the soil when the plant grows up. This kind of thinking is very wrong p>
General cutting requires peat with perlite or vermiculite (river sand can also be used instead). These substrates have good water permeability and are suitable for root growth (cutting requires high humidity, and it is easy to rot if the soil has poor water permeability) p>
The soil used for cutting or flower planting in the past can also be used for cutting, but it must be disinfected and sterilized in advance. Carbendazim can be prepared according to 1:1000 times solution p>
Never be lazy!!! The consequence of non disinfection is that some bacteria will remain in the soil, which will greatly reduce the survival probability. Even if they have survived, the later treatment will be very troublesome, so we must strangle the bacteria in the cradle p>
4 water
Huahua lives in Qingdao, so our cutting is generally carried out from June to July. (depending on the climate in the north and south, the cutting time in some places may be advanced or delayed) the temperature will be relatively high, so watering is particularly important p>
First of all, don't wait for the soil to dry before watering. Once the soil is dry, not only the survival rate will be greatly reduced, but also the rooting time will be extended later, so don't wait until the soil is dry p>
On the contrary, watering too much is not conducive to plant rooting. When there is more water, there is less air in the soil, and the humidity is high, so it will rot easily p>
The correct way is to keep the soil moist before growing roots, avoid ponding, and occasionally spray water on the leaf surface p>
5 cutting mode
Cutting branches also have certain knowledge in cutting, with flat cutting at the upper part and oblique cutting at the lower part p>
6 light
Avoid exposure to the sun. Scattered light, ventilated and cool place is appropriate. (exposure to the sun will accelerate the evaporation, cause the cutting plants to lose water too fast and wilt, and reduce the cutting survival rate)
After the plant takes root, it can start to be slowly exposed to the sun p>
7 don't worry
Many people want to know whether the plant they cut is alive or not, so they pull it out by hand every few days to see if it takes root. This practice is very wrong p>
Because at that time, the root of the plant was extremely fragile. When you pull it out, the root may have been broken, and you will feel that it has not yet grown roots. So don't worry p>
